“The Trust celebrated its 50th anniversary with the opening, by Bill Hitchins Chairman of the Dartmoor National Park, the newly refurbished museum. The displays have been designed to appeal to all ages.
The museum refurbishment is the latest project in an on-going programme of improving and updating the Centre building.
Residential groups can be accommodated throughout the year (pre-booking essential).
Those wishing to see the bone deposit e.g .school groups, local interest societies, students, researchers, Scouts etc. can visit from mid April to mid September (pre-booking essential).
Members of the general public are welcome on August ‘Open Days’. No booking needed.
The ‘Dartmoor Magazine ’will be publishing a full feature article in the summer 2014 issue to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Wilf Joint (Squeak to his friends). He was one of the two men who discovered the bone deposit in 1938 and a founder member of the Trust.
